Healthy Eating All meals are prepared on site - each nursery has its own kitchen. The nursery chefs are experienced and hold qualifications in food hygiene. We follow a four-week rotating menu, which includes all food groups and accommodates children's special dietary requirements, food intolerances and allergies.
Breakfast, consisting of cereals, toast and fruit is served at approximately 8.45am.
A cooked two course lunch is served at approximately 11.45am. Vegetarian alternatives are always available.
Snack time is at 2.00pm when we serve fruit and a drink of water. Both nurseries hold the Gold Standard Healthy Snack Award, and both have achieved a rating of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.
A light tea which include sandwiches and fruit, cheese, beans on toast or cheese pasta is served at approximately 3.30pm. Drinks of water are freely available throughout the day.
Babies are fed according to the routine they are used to at home. We have a weaning menu that we use for our babies and their bottles are prepared on site in our milk making area by a qualified member of staff. Parents normally prefer to bring in formula milk ready prepared (appropriately labelled).
We want the children to enjoy each meal in a sociable and calm environment, and to develop good eating habits and table manners. If a child is asleep when the meal is served, their meal is kept for them to eat once they are awake.
